The Data Controller and Service Operator (Service Owner): Instytut Informatyki Politechniki Poznańskiej (Institute of Computer Science of Poznań University of Technology) (ul. 60-965 Poznań, ul. Piotrowo 2 (Berdychowo))

The Service acquires information about users and their behavior by:

  • Saving cookie files (so-called "cookies") in end-user devices.
  • Collecting WWW server logs.

Information about cookies

The Service uses cookie files (so-called „cookies”).

Cookies are IT data, in particular text files, that are stored on the Service User's end device and are intended for using the Service's websites. Cookies usually contain the name of the website they originate from, their storage time on the end device, and a unique identifier.

The entity placing cookies on the Service User's end device and accessing them is the Service Operator.

Cookies are used for the following purposes:

  • creating statistics that help understand how Service Users use the websites, which allows for improving their structure and content;
  • maintaining the Service User's session (e.g., after logging in), thanks to which the User does not have to re-enter their login and password on every subpage of the Service;
  • determining the user's profile to display tailored content to them

The Service uses two basic types of cookies: "session" cookies and "persistent" cookies. "Session" cookies are temporary files stored on the User's end device until they log out, leave the website, or turn off the web browser. "Persistent" cookies are stored on the User's end device

for a time specified in the cookie parameters or until they are deleted by the User.

The web browser usually allows the storage of cookies on the User's end device by default. Service Users can change these settings.

The web browser allows for the deletion of cookies. Automatic blocking of cookies is also possible. Detailed information on this matter is available in the help or documentation of the selected web browser.

Restrictions on the use of cookies may affect some functionalities available on the Service's websites.

Cookies placed on the Service User's end device.

The Operator may be obliged to provide information collected by the Service to authorized bodies on the basis of lawful requests to the extent resulting from the request.

Managing cookies

If the user does not wish to receive cookies, they can change their browser settings. Disabling support for cookies essential for authentication processes, security, and maintaining user preferences may complicate, and in extreme cases, prevent the use of websites.
